Hi!
YES, it has been almost 6 months since I last updated my website and wrote to you of my goings-onses. YES, laziness plays a part in my lapse in correspondence, but in my defense, this has been more of a period of process than production. Does that sound crazy? YES? Then you’ve got the picture of mi vida crazy that I’m trying to paint for you – with the word YES as my paintbrush.
That said, the beginning of 2017 was a time of making actual things. I spent the month of February in Saratoga Springs at the glorious, historical artist’s colony, Yaddo, where I worked day and night on my masterpieces. No, not my abs!! I also used much of my time there planning, mocking up, thinking about, and singing in front of a long-term project that’s been on my mind: Then and Now (Nobody’s Perfect). This is going to take some extra resources to achieve, so it will remain in the percolating stages for now, but basically the plan is to create an interactive, full sized, totally hand-crafted, sequin-adorned multi-use stage curtain with integrated private and public performances. While I was at Yaddo, I did a little show in my studio in front of my mock-up curtain for what one might call a captive audience: the other residents there who were clearly desperate for any form of entertainment. I could tell they were desperate, because they seemed to like it.
One of the great things about going on residencies like Yaddo, is meeting the other artists there. I met many wonderful artists and left Yaddo totally inspired by so much of what I saw and heard. I recently finished a song inspired by a passage that writer Nawaaz Ahmed read from the novel he was there to work on. The song is nowhere near as beautiful as what he wrote, but I did my best. What? You can’t wait to hear things and see people perform?? Then GO TO THIS! It’s my husband Jim Andralis’ night of heaven he’s preparing for you on Tuesday, June 13th at Joe’s Pub. He’s been practicing with the 4 most talented and beautiful women you will ever see: Julie DeLano, Leslie Graves, Susan Hwang, and Jessie Kilguss. They have a special skill, and it is called SINGING!!! When these 4 get together, they become the Syntonics, and when they join with Jim, they become MAGIC!
Sometimes a 6th, lower voice joins in, and even though that voice is the less refined voice of a little somebody known as me, something about that combination always takes things all the way to 11! Jim will be debuting some new, extraordinary songs as well as some older fan favorites, and, oh yeah, he will have a kick-ass BAND of sensitive rockers: Tom Beaujour, Tim Foljahn, Dave Richman, and Jeremy Wilms! This is going to be a very special one! If you are in the New York area, please come. If you come, please say hi!!

To make a House of Larréon Patchwork Couture Necktie, I meticulously dissect and reassemble vintage neckties, then hand-embroider their joining seams with 100% silk thread. Only after each newly assembled, embroidered tie passes the most scrutinizing inspection by the House of Larréon Couture Cuality Control Crüe (or the “HOL C to the 4th Power”), do I then lovingly brand each unique tie with the House of Larréon label.
Dads love them! Moms love them! We all scream for House of Larréon Patchwork Couture Neckties!!

Poppy Louise Mandrell Everett has hers!
Speaking of Poppy, her mommy, Bridget Everett continues to be a beacon for high fashion all around the world. In the past few months, Bridget has made about a zillion red carpet and TV appearances, turning heads everywhere she goes in her Larréons! From appearances on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen in his New York studios like the night Bridget appeared wearing her signature custom House of Larréon Pussy Flowers
to the beaches of Cannes, France to attend the premiere of her new movie Patti Cake$ (She is so great in it!) wearing one of her many mix n’ match convertible Larréunits
I also had a great time recently creating a stage look for my favorite New York soul/synth/emo/psychedelic sister act, the Curry Puffs!
Like Bridget’s Larréunits, these gowns are convertible in many ways and hand washable for easy care!
From free & flowy to as rigid as it gets, this past May, House of Larréon dipped our toe into the cutting edge world of ceremonial Judaica couture for the second time when I made a custom Tallit for my nephew Grant to wear to his Bar Mitzvah. It is made of the finest wools, silks, and velvets, and it came out like this:

While in Portland for the Bar Mitzvah, I met with my idols, the Hand2Mouth Theatre
about our upcoming collaboration WHICH IS REALLY HAPPENING! I will be designing the sets for the upcoming Hand2Mouth Theatre production, Psychic Utopia which will be at Portland’s New Expressive Works (N.E.W.) Studio 2. The show is coming together to be something extraordinary, and I really can’t wait to see it and share it with the world this November!
